Step back into the ancient world as you uncover the extraordinary history of Rome and Pompeii. In Rome, you’ll stand beneath the mighty walls of the Colosseum and walk among the ruins of the Roman Forum, where your guide brings the stories of emperors, gladiators and ancient life vividly to life. Every street you walk down has something incredible to look at, from a church in a hidden corner to the ancient manhole covers. In Pompeii, you’ll get to explore even more what it was like back in the day, as you wander through an entire Roman city preserved beneath volcanic ash for almost 1,700 years. There are very few experiences in the world where you will feel entirely connected to the ancient world, but Pompeii delivers this with every step you take. 

From all the incredible manmade beauty on this trip, there are also plenty of jaw-dropping natural wonders. Many that will entice and tempt you to never leave. The sparkling Mediterranean waters surrounding Capri are so intensely turquoise, it almost beggars belief. Here you will also experience the magical blue light of the famous Blue Grotto, where the stunning shades of blue rewrite your internal colour palette. Then you cross the Tyrrhenian Sea overnight towards Palermo. Here, colourful markets, grand architecture, Mediterranean gardens and the warm, lively spirit of Sicilian life create a spectacular finale, where every street seems to offer another beautiful scene to discover.

Your trip begins in Rome, where you will have a couple of days to explore this incredible city, before heading down the coast to Sorrento, with a stop in Pompeii on the way.  After exploring the beauty of the Amalfi Coast and Capri, you will board a ferry to take you across to Palermo, on Sicily, where you will have time to explore before your trip comes to an end.

Health & vaccination

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. So whilst you are not legally required to be vaccinated, and it’s also not a requirement to travel with us, it will limit some of the countries that you can visit and may make it harder to travel for the next 12-18 months.

• We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.

• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour

Availability

• All DealsAway trips are available on a request-only basis and are subject to availability. Once booked you should receive a payment confirmation and receipt via email, followed by a booking confirmation normally within 72hrs of making a booking, sometimes this can take a little longer subject to supplier delay
